On the morning of February 27, several users in India faced difficulties logging into the desktop version of WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta. Many reported problems with their chats not loading and frequent logouts. Users also noted that messages were not syncing correctly with the desktop application.

According to Downdetector.in, a site that tracks outages, numerous users reported being unable to access the website. About 50% experienced issues, while 44% had trouble with the mobile app, and 6% reported messaging difficulties. The number of reports on Downdetector peaked around 9:30 AM, with 28 users mentioning problems that day.

Frustrated users took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss their challenges connecting WhatsApp Web to their mobile devices and issues with scanning QR codes.

Is #WhatsApp down? 🤔
Unable to log in on other devices — it’s just not connecting.
Anyone else? pic.twitter.com/gcr3mz723c

One user questioned, “Is #WhatsApp down? I can’t log in on any devices — it’s just not connecting. Is anyone else experiencing this?”

gw udah mau nangis banget berkali nyoba login wa di web, udah nyoba pake 2 nomer gw, nyoba di apk wa, microsoft edge, mozilla, chrome, ternyata emang pada error ye pada gabisa login juga 😭

Another individual shared, ‘I’m on the verge of tears; I’ve attempted to log into WhatsApp Web countless times, used both of my numbers, and tried it on different browsers like Microsoft Edge, Mozilla, and Chrome. It seems like it’s malfunctioning for everyone; no one can log in.’

Unlike major outages that typically affect the entire system, this situation was specific to the Web and Desktop platforms. The mobile apps for both Android and iOS continued to work smoothly, allowing users to send and receive messages without any interruptions.
